Nickelodeon Universe Ride Pass, Close Up
The Nickelodeon Universe Unlimited Ride Pass is a one-day wristband for the rides in the seven-acre indoor theme park at the centre of Mall of America. Walking onto the park floor is free; the wristband is needed only to ride. The listing counts 26 rides and attractions, and the ticket can be redeemed once, on the date booked.
What happens, step by step
Parking is free on every ramp, and the Blue Line stops on the ground floor of the East ramp. The park sits at the centre of the building, and the shopping corridors form a loose ring around it. It was the first indoor Nickelodeon park in the United States.
- Book a date. The ticket is valid on that date only and can be redeemed once.
- Walk into the park. The floor and its walkways are open to anyone, with or without a wristband.
- Redeem the ticket for the wristband, which covers unlimited rides for the rest of the day.
- Ride. The thrill rides include SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge, Avatar Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock. PAW Patrol Adventure Bay and Rugrats Reptarmobiles are among the family and junior rides.
- Meet the characters. SpongeBob, PAW Patrol and the Turtles appear at meet-and-greets, and shops and food stands are inside the park.
- From 3 pm, anyone under 16 must be with an adult aged 21 or over, inside the park as in the corridors.
Rides may close without notice. Some rides cannot take guests of certain body sizes because of how the restraints are designed. Service animals are allowed on four junior and family rides only. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits families planning several hours of rides and friends who want the thrill rides more than once. One traveller spent ten hours in the park. The park page covers the rides by type, Dutchman’s Deck and the Log Chute.
A visit of two or three rides fits the points card instead, which is sold at the park and not on GetYourGuide. Groups with under-16s who arrive after 3 pm need an adult aged 21 or over with them; the escort policy page sets out the rule and the dates when it runs all day.
What reviewers mention
Sonia from the US arrived at opening, found almost no lines and rode a lot in the morning. Christin, also from the US, came with a group of friends: the rides were “fun but survivable”, and the queues gave them time to talk. Lokela’s daughter had fun, while he could not fit one ride’s restraint. Monica enjoyed the day and says a whole day of shopping, food and rides adds up.
Molly and her daughter stayed from open to close. A traveller from Germany writes that it was all about the children, who did not stop. Another mentions long waits, but expected ones.
The park opens at 10 am Monday to Saturday and 11 am on Sunday, as published. Arriving at opening, as Sonia did, puts the first rides ahead of the queues. The one-day itinerary plans the rest of the day around that start.

Is a wristband needed to enter Nickelodeon Universe?
No. The park floor is free to walk into, and the wristband is needed only to ride. The home-plate plaque from Metropolitan Stadium is set into that floor. The free page lists what else inside the mall needs no ticket.
